The Ann Arbor Golf and Outing Club is a small private club
in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It is located on 38 acres just south of the
University of Michigan's football stadium. The exact date of the Club's
formation cannot be verified but it is generally thought that golf was being
played on this site as far back as 1890. In
addition to nine holes of golf totaling just over 2500 yards with a men's par of 33
(36 for women), the facilities include a clubhouse with dining rooms and a
tennis house with two courts.A total of over 300 members enjoy golf,
tennis, bridge, dining and other social activities throughout the spring,
summer and fall. Membership is open to all but candidates must be sponsored
by two current members. The wait can be quite long. Members joining in
2008 have been on the waiting list for
at least four years. The current waiting list is close to 200.
On football Saturdays, the course is opened to the public for vehicle parking.
Depending on the weather and turf conditions, up to 2000 cars and passenger
vans (but no RVs or buses) can
be accommodated. See the Football Parking
page for more information.
