(4/2/00) Taken from an email message sent from Greg White (’81), webmaster for www.yearbook.net:
Hi....
It's been a while since my last email and there have been quite a few additions to the JHS Virtual Yearbook which you can find at http://www.yearbook.net.
The biggest change is the addition of a 'registration' page. You now have to register to visit the JHS Virtual Yearbook. This was done to allow me to make sure that email that is sent from the Virtual Yearbook is from a valid email address. Hopefully this will reduce (or eliminate) any 'SPAM' or other junk email that might originate from our site. If you have problems with the registration process, let me know so I can try to fix them. As it has been for some time, email addresses are never revealed at the Virtual Yearbook (with the exception of the guestbook).
I am now able to get yearbooks directly from the Jackson Public School system. Thanks go to Tracy (Ambs) White for all her help. I should be able to get yearbooks on-line a little quicker now. I don't have a schedule for any specific years. If you want to get your yearbook on-line sooner, check out the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page at http://www.yearbook.net/faq.htm#yearbook4.
In the last couple months I have added 1911, 1919, 1974, 1975, 1976 and 1977 yearbooks (thanks to Jim Stuart, class of '77, for the books from the '70s). I also have the 1936 and 1942 yearbooks here and hope to get them on-line soon. I have requested yearbooks from graduating classes that will have reunions this year (45, 55, 85, 90, etc) and will post them as I get them. If you, or someone you know, is involved with the reunion committee for your class, let me know. I'd be glad to give you some space to advertise. For those of you who have attended reunions in the last year or so, how about sending some pictures so your classmates that couldn't make it can see what they missed.
I'm still interested in adding a 'history' page to show Jackson High (and the City of Jackson) from past to present. If you have pictures, postcards, brochures, etc from Jackson's early years, let me know so I can post them.
That should do it for now. Please let me know if you have any ideas for the site. I'm constantly trying new things and your suggestions always help. Make sure you look at the guestbook at http://www.yearbook.net/guestbook/ and see who else has visited. Leave a message to let everyone else know what you've been up to.
Thanks for all your support
Greg
