September '06
(9/17) - About 30 classmates and guests participated in the initial planning session for our 45 year reunion as part of a terrific potluck and bonfire event hosted by Janet and Bill Forbes on September 16. The weekend of July 10-12, 2008 will include several events around the theme, "'63 turns 63." Initial plans are similar to past reunions with an evening picnic on Friday and a dinner on Saturday night. Other ideas for the rest of the weekend were also discussed, including golf, antique shopping, a wine-tasting tour and a Sunday breakfast. Our treasury now totals about $1000 so we will have enough funds for mailings, deposits and other up front costs.
Stephen R. Harrington passed away unexpectedly September 12, 2006 at Foote Hospital with his family at his side. Click on his name for the obituary from the Jackson Citizen Patriot. A celebration of Steve's life will be held at Michigan Center Eagles Lodge 3634, located on 302 Fifth St., Michigan Center, Saturday September 16, 2006, from 1 to 3 p.m.

(3/15) - Here is a short report on John Psychas' Memorial Service. Between two and three dozen classmates attended.

(3/4) - Visitation for John Psychas will be at the St Demetrius Orthodox Church, 3043 Seymour Road, Jackson. (517) 784-0116. www.stdemetrius.com. Visitation times will be Saturday from 7 to 9 pm and Sunday from 2 to 8 pm. The funeral will be Monday at noon, also at the church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Nick Whitney, one of John's great-nephews, set up a website in tribute to him.
Here is the URL: http://johnpsychas.blogspot.com/

(3/2) - Our class lost a good friend on Thursday, March 2.
John Psychas suffered a massive cardiac incident and passed away quickly. I will update  the information here as soon as more information is available. John enjoyed a terrific weekend with many of us at our 60th Birthday Celebration in Orlando in October. Shortly thereafter, he moved from Ann Arbor back to Jackson and lived across the street from our high school. John was spark plug at our class events and a major force in keeping us together. We will miss him greatly.
