Saturday, April 24
|
MiPHS Annual Lecture and Dinner. Our speaker will be Lorne Shields. His topic will be "The Bicycle in Vintage Photographs." Lorne has collected early cycling photography for over 40 years. Aspects of his collection have been on display at the Smithsonian Institution, the Royal Ontario Museum and the Science & Technology Museum of Canada, among others. Images range from 1849 to 1930. Here is a link to the reservation form. Reception at 6:00. Dinner at 7:00 with the program to follow. |
| Saturday, June 12 |
Collodion Wet Plate Demonstration. Robert Shimmin, photographer and MiPHS member, will demonstrate and discuss the making of tintypes, ambrotypes and glass plate negatives. He will also display his work and show historical examples from his collection. The event will be held at President Cindy's home at 2625 Benjamin in Royal Oak, beginning at noon. Call her for reservations at (248) 549-6026. |
| August 7 |
Deadline for submissions of photos and text for the "Members Portfolio" in the September-October Photogram. MiPHS members are invited to share photos, hardware and ephemera from their personal collections. See the article in the April-May Photogram for details. |

The MiPHS Annual Photographica Show and Sale will again be held at the Royal Oaks Elks Hall, 2401 E. Fourth Street, just south of 11 Mile and west of I-75. Table applications will be in the July Photogram |
